Should I start with a speelight established or continuous light?
I want to create a small home studio. Mainly for family portraits oneself, and friends. What is the best lighting set up for a beginner, continuous illumination with an umbrella or shoot through something like a Vivitar 285HV through a session through umbrella? I know it's cheap, but here I am thinking of a computer if I decide to continuous illumination. Hey, it's a lol home. Please tell me what you think:) I thought this would be the general response. But I'm glad to hear it. I live in Florida, so most every household has 90 to 10 'ceilings. This does not is a problem. I think I'll start with a Vivitar 285HV with a shot through, and then move to some Alien Bee strobes once I have more experience and decide whether to like me photography studio.
Since lighting is the first continuous study will not tolerate light as you want without having to do much "Test" fire with their clients to be and wonder if Guy knows what he / she does. Even some of the units of "studio" flash are equipped with accessible fire modeling can be difficult to implement because the modeling light only supply 250 watts. kits usually have 750 watt incandescent lamp to see small changes in the shadow detail is much easier. Although I use 600 watts / sec flashes during the performance study of fashion in the study, almost all the product photos I take is that incandescent lamps use bounce and shoot through umbrellas and soft boxes with my key and fill lights. The other lights are used with some modification, such as scrims, flags, caps, nets, visors and other common modifiers.
